HRH the Deputy King chairs the weekly Cabinet Meeting
The Deputy King, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, chaired today the weekly Cabinet Meeting at Gudaibiya Palace.

The Cabinet affirmed the importance of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s visit to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, undertaken at the invitation of King Charles III, in furthering Bahrain-UK ties. In this regard, the Cabinet commended the longstanding Bahrain-UK relations and multisectoral partnership.

The Cabinet welcomed the newly appointed Cabinet members, following a Royal Decree issued by HM the King, and extended best wishes for success to His Highness Dr Shaikh Abdullah bin Ahmed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, the new Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications, and His Excellency Osama bin Saleh Al Alawi, the Minister of Social Development.

The Cabinet commended the outcomes of the visit of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Montenegro, His Excellency Milojko Spajić, and its importance in enhancing bilateral cooperation to meet shared goals.

The Cabinet welcomed the launch of the global youth support initiative "Hope Network," in line with HM the King’s vision to support and invest in the Kingdom's youth and based on the directives of the government, led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. The initiative was spearheaded by His Majesty the King’s Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, to promote youth engagement and empowerment.

The Cabinet congratulated Bahrain's national volleyball team on winning the 23rd Arab Men's Volleyball Championship, hosted in Bahrain, celebrating this success as a significant addition to the Kingdom's wide-ranging sports achievements.

The Cabinet extended its best wishes for the success of the Extraordinary Arab and Islamic Summit hosted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, expressing hope that it will strengthen Arab solidarity and unify Arab nations’ position to regional developments.

The Cabinet also congratulated the President-elect of the United States of America, Donald Trump, on his victory in the U.S. presidential elections. In this regard, the Cabinet commended the longstanding Bahrain-U.S. relationship, spanning over 120 years.


The Cabinet then discussed several memorandums during the meeting, approving the following:
1. A memorandum submitted by the Government Executive Committee to enhance drug management and availability.
2. A memorandum submitted by the Civil Service Council on the restructuring of several government agencies to improve their performance and efficiency.
3. A memorandum submitted by the Ministerial Committee for Legal and Legislative Affairs on the Jeddah Document of the Global High-Level Ministerial Conference on Antimicrobial Resistance.
4. A memorandum submitted by the Ministerial Committee for Legal and Legislative Affairs on a memorandum of understanding between the Supreme Council for Health and the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties.
5. A memorandum submitted by the Minister of Cabinet Affairs and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Education and Training Quality Authority, regarding the approval of the Authority’s reports.
6. A memorandum submitted by the Ministerial Committee for Legal and Legislative Affairs on the government’s response to two proposals and a law submitted by the Council of Representatives.


The Cabinet noted the following ministerial reports:
1. Outcomes of the Kingdom's participation in the 25th meeting of the GCC Ministerial Committee, tasked with ensuring the implementation of decisions related to GCC joint work.
2. Outcomes of the official visit of the Minister of Industry and Commerce to the United Arab Emirates
