HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister chairs the weekly Cabinet Meeting
His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, today chaired the weekly Cabinet Meeting at Gudaibiya Palace.
The Cabinet extended its congratulations to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, on the occasion of the 28th anniversary of the National Guard’s establishment. The Cabinet highlighted the National Guard’s vital role in carrying out their national duties and their combat readiness.
The Cabinet extended its congratulations to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa on the occasion of the Bahrain National Football Team winning the 26th Arabian Gulf Cup.
This marks the second time that the Kingdom of Bahrain has won the title.
The Cabinet expressed its pride in the Kingdom’s remarkable sports achievement and congratulated the people of Bahrain on this milestone, which adds to the Kingdom’s record of accomplishments achieved by Team Bahrain.
The Cabinet commended the efforts of the players and administrative staff of the Bahrain National Football Team, which lead them to victory and bolstered the Kingdom’s position in sports in the Gulf.
Furthermore, the Cabinet expressed its gratitude to Bahrain’s citizens and residents for their unwavering support of the national team, as well as the warm gestures and congratulations extended by GCC countries following Bahrain’s victory in the Arabian Gulf Cup.
The Cabinet highlighted the success of the “Celebrate Bahrain” season and its positive outcomes on the Kingdom’s economy, expressing its gratitude to all government entities and private sector sponsors for their excellent organisational efforts.
The Cabinet then discussed several memorandums during the meeting, approving the following:
1. A memorandum submitted by the Ministerial Committee for Information Technology and Communication regarding the digital transformation of government services, which aims to improve the efficiency and accessibility of government procedures.
2. A memorandum submitted by the Ministerial Committee for Financial and Economic Affairs and Fiscal Balance regarding the quarterly economic report for the third quarter of 2024, which showed a 2.1% annual growth in GDP at constant prices, supported by a 3.9% increase in non-oil activities.
3. A memorandum submitted by the Ministerial Committee for Legal and Legislative Affairs regarding a draft law amending some provisions of the laws of standards and specifications.
4. A memorandum submitted by the Minister of Housing and Urban Planning regarding housing services.
5. A memorandum submitted by the Ministerial Committee for Legal and Legislative Affairs on the government’s response to three proposals submitted by the Council of Representatives.
The Cabinet then reviewed a memorandum submitted by the Minister of Cabinet Affairs on the implementation of the government’s 2023-2024 program and the percentage of achievement in its six pillars.
